55 Countries, 275 Designs – a Trip Around the World in Your Colors

Are you looking for a coloring book where you don’t just fill in shapes, but discover something about the world along the way?

Do you dream of faraway places – or do you have a child at home who wants to know how people elsewhere live, eat, make music, and celebrate?

And would you love a book that kids and grown-ups enjoy just as much, whether alone on the couch or together at the kitchen table?

Color the World, One Country at a Time takes you on a journey through 55 countries on five continents – from Switzerland to Japan, from Morocco to Peru, from Norway to New Zealand. Every country has its own two-page spread. On the right, five designs are waiting for your colors: usually a traditional costume, a custom, a musical instrument, a typical dish, and a piece of craftsmanship. You’ll find the Scottish kilt and bagpipes, the horsehead fiddle from Mongolia, the colorful alebrijes from Mexico, kente cloth from Ghana, and the tagine from Morocco.

On the left, a few sentences tell you what makes the country special and what’s behind the designs. A short fact box lists the capital, language, and currency, and you learn how to say “hello” and “thank you” there – with a pronunciation guide so you can try it out loud. Every fact has been carefully researched and checked against two sources.

The designs are clean line drawings: kids can fill them with bold colors, while adults can play with shading and blending. Because each country stands on its own, you can start wherever you like – with the country of your last vacation, a friend’s homeland, or the place you’ve always wanted to see.

What’s inside:

  • 55 countries with 275 designs from Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Oceania, arranged by continent.
  • A text page for every country with a fact box, short explanations of the designs, and “hello” and “thank you” in the local language with pronunciation.
  • Your own passport to color: when you finish a country, color in its stamp. The page number below takes you straight to that country.
  • Clear lines and separate designs that kids and adults both enjoy – one quick design in between or a whole page in one sitting.
  • Large 8.5 x 11 inch format with 126 pages: the text on the left, the designs on the right – everything lies comfortably in front of you.

Tip: The pictures turn out best with colored pencils. Because each design page is backed by a text page, slip a sheet of paper behind it when you use markers.

Imagine this: it’s Sunday afternoon, and the colored pencils are spread out on the table. Your child colors the bagpipes, you color the tagine from Morocco, and in between you try saying “hello” in Japanese. Then the next stamp in the passport gets its colors – and you wonder together where the journey will go next. Or you take on a country by yourself in the evening, make a cup of tea, and travel to India or Thailand in your mind. Page by page, your own personal travel book takes shape. It also makes a wonderful gift for world travelers, curious kids, parents, and grandparents – and for everyone who dreams of their next trip. The first page has room for a name: “This coloring book belongs to …”
